This year we will be using a “clip chart” to monitor student behavior and student choices. This clip chart is a color-coded, visual display, like the one you see below hanging in our classroom. I believe this will be a positive way for students to monitor their choices and behaviors and will give them behavior goals to strive for!
Each student will be responsible for moving his/her own clip up and down the chart throughout the day. Each student will begin the day on the green “Ready to Learn” portion of the chart. This means the student is ready to conduct themselves according to our classroom and TK behavioral guidelines. These guidelines require that students be safe, be respectful and be responsible. |
During the day individual students will be asked by the teacher to move his clip up or down the chart depending on the choices he makes. When a student makes good choices he will be asked to move his clip up the chart. When a student makes poor choices he will be asked to move his clip down the chart. A student who has moved his clip down the chart will have the opportunity to move it back up if he makes positive behavior choices throughout the remainder of the day. |
